Abbey Lodge Guest House is the large Victorian Town House home of Linda and Mike Forbes, situated in Portsmouth's waterfront resort of Southsea, close to Wimbledon Park.

Southsea beach is just a ten minute stroll away and Abbey Lodge is within easy reach of the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, the Heritage Museums, the Portsmouth University campus, Gunwarf Quays shopping and entertainment complex, the Spinnaker Tower, the Kings Theatre, the Wedgewood Rooms and Portsmouth's  Ports (for ferries to France, Spain, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Wight).

A generous, home cooked, choice of breakfast is cooked to order for you including: traditional English; brown and white toast; orange juice; cereals; kippers; porridge; omelettes and scrambled egg. We even have some naughty choc bars, flapjacks and giant cookies. Vegetarians are catered for and with prior notice we can help with special diets. Naturally, breakfast is included in the tariff.

For those that need to get away first thing in the morning (for early ferries or long journeys) we can provide a light breakfast "to go" that can be eaten in your room or taken away.

Unlike some budget lodges, we provide thoughtful touches in your room for your convenience and comfort, including: complementary tea; coffee (regular and decaff); bottled water;  drinking chocolate; biscuits; shower cap; soap; shampoo; shoe wipe; nail file and sewing kit.

The businessman is equally pampered, with free wireless Internet access for his laptop and free UK fax facilities. A steam iron and an ironing board are always available, to sharpen up those creases before the next important meeting.
